Logan and Maddyson met senior year of undergrad in fall of 2018. They shared a class together but did not think much of each other at the time. The weekend prior to graduation in the spring of 2019, Maddyson was returning her books and recognized Logan from class. She sparked conversation with him. Later on, Logan asked Maddy on a coffee date that turned into three hours of passionate conversation. The rest is history.

In July 2024, Maddyson and Logan traveled to Glacial National Park in Montana. They went hiking and stopped by a beautiful Saint Mary Lake. As Maddy was looking upon the water, Logan quickly got down on one knee and asked if she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Catching her by surprise, she replied, "Is this real?" Logan became confused, "The ring?" Maddy not thinking about what she had said (and being ADHD), "No, not the ring. Is this (her being engaged) really happening?" He said yes, and then Maddy of course said yes!

We originally planned to hyphenate our last names because we liked the idea of combining both of our families into one name. But the more we discussed it, the more we realized how much our own last names mean to us and the family histories they carry. In the end, we decided to keep our own names and let each of them represent where we came from, while the family we’re building together represents where we’re going.
